iPhone 5 is Coming - iPhone 4 Pricing to Drop Tomorrow

Are you ready for the new iPhone 5?

SOURCE: Here

PastedGraphic-2011-07-31-15-29.jpg

A number of reports are coming in that the iPhone 4 is going to see a price drop at a number of retailers tomorrow.

Phone Arena is reporting that Target will begin selling the iPhone 4 16GB tomorrow for $149.99 and the iPhone 4 32GB for $249.99. However, AT&T's 32GB version wont be cut in price at all. Also, Target will be running a trade-in promotion for 3GS owners giving them $100 off the cost of an iPhone 4 if they trade in their 3GS (which Target will be selling for $19.99). This effectively could cut the cost of a new iPhone 4 to $49.99.

Engadget is separately reporting that Radio Shack, everyones favorite place for hard to find banana wire crimpers, will be slashing the price of iPhone 4's to $169.99 (16GB) and $269.99 (32GB) and the 3GS to $19.99 (8GB).

New iPhones on the way soon anyone?

Discover The Top 10 Secret Features in Mac OS X Lion

Great TIPS from Lifehacker.

Lion's out and there's a lot of new stuff to explore. Apple tells you about most of it on their web site, but there are still some secret features you'll want to know about. Here's a look at our top 10 favorites.
medium_0800-add-new-voices-2011-07-31-09-35.jpg
10. Add New, High-Quality Text-to-Speech Voices
Over the years, Apple's been working incrementally to improve the quality of the text-to-speech voices offered with its operating system. For awhile we just had Alex, the only somewhat natural-sounding computer voice in the collection. While that hasn't changed much, as far as the defaults go, you can add a bunch of new voices directly from OS X's VoiceOver Utility (in Hard Drive -> Applications -> Utilities). Just click the Speech pane and then select "Customize" from the voice selection menu. This will let you choose from all the options—including a lot of the fun novelty voices you might have thought went missing.

9. Look Up a Word in the Dictionary with Two Taps
Lion comes with a lot of new multitouch gestures, and hidden in the new set is the ability to look up a word with two taps. All you have to do is place your cursor over a word you want to look up, then tap the word twice with three fingers. This will highlight it in yellow and show you a heads up display with the word's definition. Of course, you'll need to turn this on in System Preferences -> Trackpad -> Point & Click first.

0800-search-tokens-2011-07-31-09-35.jpg
8. Create Search Tokens When Searching for Files
You'll find this functionality throughout applications in Lion, but it's especially useful when looking for files in the Finder. Basically, when searching you type in something like "Text" and are given some options in a drop-down menu. You might be looking for a file with "Text" in the file name or just a file that is made up of text. You can choose which one from this menu and it'll create a search token. Once a token is created, you'll start to get results. You can keep creating more and more tokens this way to refine your search, however, making it really easy to quickly locate the file (or files) you're looking for.

7. Group a Bunch of Items into a Folder
The Finder has a handy new trick hidden in the contextual menu, and that's the ability to select a bunch of files, right- or control-click them, and choose "New folder from X items." What this does is groups all the files together and throws them in a new folder. Sure you could just make a new folder and drag them all in, but this saves you a step. Want to do this with a keyboard shortcut? Just press Command+Control+N.

0800-quick-add-in-ical-2011-07-31-09-35.jpg
6. Add an Event to iCal by Typing a Phrase
Known as "Quick Add", iCal now lets you just type a human-readable phrase to add a new item to your calendar. To do this, just click the + button in iCal and choose a calendar. You'll get a little pop up that'll let you enter whatever you want. Type something like "Movie this Friday at 7pm" and iCal will translate it into a new event.
Bonus iCal feature: Enter year view and you'll see a heat map over the calendar. The warmer the color, the more you have going on that day.

medium_0800-secret-screen-sharing-2011-07-31-09-35.jpg
5. Share the Screen of an Inactive User
Screen sharing is great when you want to take control of whatever's currently on the screen, but what happens when someone's logged in to another account and you want to access yours remotely? Screen sharing now lets you share the screen of any user, even when their account is running in the background.
Bonus Screen Sharing feature: If you want to allow people to share your screen but you don't want to create a new account for them, you can just add their Apple ID as an authorized user in the Screen Sharing section of the Sharing pane in System Preferences.
medium_0800-privacy-2011-07-31-09-35.jpg
4. Manage Privacy Settings for Any App
Lion now includes some privacy settings, letting you control which apps are allowed to use your location and collect usage data. To access it, just go to the top row in System Preferences and select Security & Privacy. From there, click the Privacy tab and you can make any changes you want.

medium_0800-auto-restart-2011-07-31-09-35.jpg
3. Automatically Restart When the Computer Freezes
Sometimes your computer freezes only to become unfrozen seconds later. Other times you stare at the screen for several minutes, wondering if that's going to happen, and then eventually restart when you're convinced you're wasting your time. With resuming capabilities it isn't so awful if a freeze does take place and requires a restart, but you no longer have to decide in Lion. Hidden away in the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences is a little checkbox called "Restart automatically if the computer freezes." Check it and you won't ever have to worry about it again.

0800-windows-migration-2011-07-31-09-35.jpg
2. Fully Migrate from Windows to Mac OS X Automatically
If you're moving from a Windows PC to a Mac, Lion can help ease that transition by migrating all your files to the proper places in OS X. This means everything from documents to mail accounts in Outlook to even your photos in Picasa (not sure why they picked Picasa, but they did). The transfer happens over the network, either wirelessly or wired—totally up to you. You need to first download a copy of Migration Assistant for Windows and then open the copy that's already on your Mac (Hard Drive -> Utilities -> Migration Assistant). From there you can select the information you want to transfer and let the fun begin. It'll probably take awhile, but when it finishes your Mac will now have the same data as your old Windows machine.

medium_0800-sign-a-document-with-preview-2011-07-31-09-35.jpg
1. Easily Add a Signature to a PDF Document in Preview
Preview has a lot of neat new features, but one of the best is its ability to digitally sign a document. You might think this happens with your finger and trackpad, but you'd be wrong—that wouldn't include everybody. Instead, you sign a piece of paper and hold it up to your iSight/Facetime camera while Preview snaps a photo. It'll then detect the signature and allow you to add it to your document. To do this, just open the PDF document you want to sign, click "Annotate" in the toolbar (if the annotations bar isn't already showing), and then click the Signature drop-down menu. That will display two options. The first will let you take a photo of your signature with your Mac's built-in camera and the second will allow you to manage the signatures you've already saved using this process. Pretty awesome.

Short-Lived! Facebook Blocks The iPad App Trick !

Did you install the official Facebook app for iPad? Well, if you didn’t, you won’t be able anymore to install it. Facebook now has found a way to close things back up.
no-facebook-2011-07-30-20-33.png

TechCrunch reporting that the apparently leaked Facebook iPad app’s trick is now over. In case you don’t know, the trick was just about editing the info.plist file.
We’re hearing tons (as in hundreds) of reports that users who are just now getting around to checking out the trick are unable to do so. The iPad-friendly app still launches — you just can’t do much, as newcomers are being turned away at the login screen.
You may now have to wait for Facebook to release its official iPad app..

[HOW-TO] - Install Official Facebook App For iPad Right Now [Tutorial]

[SOURCE: Redmondpie]

Folks! The Facebook for iPad app is real. It is actually hidden inside the recently updated Facebook for iPhone app. And here’s how you can install it on your own iPad right now.
Facebook-For-iPad-2011-07-25-19-37.jpg
Facebook recently pushed out version 3.4.4 for iPhone which according to official change log only fixed bugs and improved performance. But as uncovered by TechCrunch today, this new version of Facebook for iPhone app also has the code necessary to execute the soon-to-be-released official Facebook for iPad app.
Last month, NYT reported that the release of official Facebook for iPad app is imminent. But since then, we didn’t hear much about it. Now it seems like the iPad app is very close to official release, as it was found to by lying dormant inside the recently updated Facebook for iPhone app.
Let’s get to the juicy bit now: here’s how to actually get the app working on your iPad…
How To Install Facebook For iPad App
Disclaimer: Follow the following steps at your own risk only. This guide is for testing & educational purposes only. Redmond Pie is not to be held responsible for any loss of important data or malfunctioning of your iPad.
You will, of course, need to have a jailbroken iPad for this to work. You can follow our step by step guide to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch on iOS 4.3.4 using Redsn0w or PwnageTool (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch), or iOS 4.3.3 using Redsn0w, PwnageTool, Sn0wbreeze or JailbreakMe (that last one being the easiest). If you’re already using iOS 5 beta, you can jailbreak it using tools like Redsn0w (for Mac and Windows), or Sn0wbreeze.
Step 1: Download and install the Facebook for iPhone app on your iPad from the App Store. You can go ahead and download the latest version from the link embedded at the end.
Step 2: Install iFile on your iPad. Search for it on Cydia.
Step 3: Open iFile. Go to Applications > Facebook > Facebook.app. You will find a file named “Info.plist” inside. Open it up and tap on Property List Viewer.

Step 4: Scroll down until you find the string of text UIDeviceFamily. Tap it.
IMG_0029-2011-07-25-19-37.png
Step 5: In the upper right corner of the screen, you will notice a ticket system. Its default setting is “1”. You must change this to “2”.
IMG_0030-2011-07-25-19-37.png
Step 6: Once you’ve changed the setting, go back to your home screen by pressing the Home button and then reboot your iPad.
That’s it! you’re done! Now when you run the Facebook app, it will start the new soon-be-released official Facebook for iPad app!

[HOW-TO] - Install / Upgrade OS X Lion 10.7 On Hackintosh PC

If anyone can’t afford a Mac, try this on your PC...
[Source: Redmondpie]
With the new OS X Lion having such a great start to life curled up inside the Mac, many of those who have built a Hackintosh PC from scratch may be wondering if it is easy enough to upgrade their systems and indulge in all the lovely newness. The answer is yes! Thanks to a fairly straightforward guide written by Tonymac, you could have your Hackintosh running Lion in no time.
OS-X-Lion-PC-2011-07-24-13-46.jpg
Requirements
Before we start, let’s make sure you have the tech specs and apps required to upgrade. You should be running Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.6 or later before you begin.
  • 8GB free on your HDD (4GB of which needs to be available in "/Applications")
  • Intel Core 2 Duo (minimum), 64 bit CPU
  • The Lion Installer, which you can pick up from the Mac App Store for $29.99 (It’s 4GB so you may be in for a little bit of a wait if your connection isn’t lightning quick)
  • Your system must be defined as Mac Pro 3,1. If not, you will need to use Multibeast to change it to 3,1. If you are unsure what your system is defined as, go to System Profile and look under Model Identifier.
  • Lastly, in addition to Tonymac’s xMove tool, you will also need the latest version of Chimera bootloader. Although if you are using Chameleon, again you can use Multibeast to replace it with Chimera. Just look under "Drivers & Bootloaders > Bootloaders"
Don’t have Snow Leopard installed on your PC? Then simply follow the guide posted here on how to do so and replace Chameleon with Chimera.
1. Download Lion From The Mac App Store
Step 1: Boot into your current version of Snow Leopard and download Lion from the Mac App Store.
Step 2: Once the OS X Lion installer launches, click continue and install Lion in the partition where Snow Leopard is installed. (Note: This wont actually install Lion, it will just install the necessary files which are required for the installation later.)
Step 3: Reboot your PC.
OS-X-Lion-2011-07-24-13-46.png
2. How To Prepare Installer Partition
Step 1: Boot into Snow Leopard once again and open /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility.
Step 2: In the column on the left, select your drive on which you have Snow Leopard installed.
Step 3: Now click on the Partition tab and then click on the plus (+) sign to add a new partition, refer to the screenshot below for reference:
Screen-shot-2011-07-13-at-4.32.39-PM-2011-07-24-13-46.png
Step 4: Rename the secondary partition as “Installer” and give it a size of 8GB. Now click on Partition.
Step 5: Close Disk Utility once you’re all done creating the partition.
3. How To Use xMove
Step 1: Download xMove from the link given above.
Step 2: Fire up xMove, and from there, choose the “Installer” drive as the Destination. DO NOT choose any other drive.
Step 3: Click continue.
xmove-2011-07-24-13-46.png
4. Boot From Installer And Installing OS X Lion
Step 1: Reboot your PC, and now at the Chimera boot screen, choose “Installer”.
Step 2: Now you should be a at a screen which looks familiar to the Mac OS X installer. Go ahead and install Lion over the Snow Leopard partition or any other empty partition, your choice.
5. Setting Up Your Hackintosh With MultiBeast
Step 1: Download MultiBeast from the link given at the beginning of the post.
Step 2: Run MultiBeast. If you’re on a PC which is running on top of an Intel Core 2 Duo or the latest Core i5/i7 processor, simply choose EasyBeast. Running a custom PC? Then click on UserDSDT.
Step 3: Install all the drivers needed, such as Graphics, Sound, Ethernet etc.
Step 4: Once you’re done, simply select the “System Utilities” option and reboot into OS X Lion.
Once you’ve rebooted, the Lion installer will appear in the Chimera boot menu. Pick that as your option and you’ll boot into the OS X installer, from which you can update your Snow Leopard partition normally.
Now you should have your Hackintosh PC running OS X Lion!

How about you?

Train - Hey, Soul Sister

Hey Hey Hey

Your lipstick stains
On the front lobe of my left side brains
I knew I wouldn't forget you
And so I went and let you blow my mind
Your sweet moonbeam
The smell of you in every single dream I dream
I knew when we collided you're the one I have decided
Who's one of my kind

Hey soul sister, hey there mister, mister
On the radio, stereo
The way you move ain't fair you know
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight

Hey Hey Hey

Just in time, I'm so glad you have a one track mind like me
You gave my life direction
A game show love connection, we can't deny
I'm so obsessed
My heart is bound to beat right out my untrimmed chest
I believe in you, like a virgin, you're Madonna
And I'm always gonna wanna blow your mind

Hey soul sister, hey there mister, mister
On the radio, stereo
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight

Well you can cut a rug
Watching you is the only drug I need
So gangster, I'm so thug
You're the only one I'm dreaming of
You see I can be myself now finally
In fact there's nothing I cant be
I want the world to see you'll be with me

Hey soul sister, hey there mister, mister
On the radio, stereo
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight
Hey soul sister, I don't wanna miss a single thing you do tonight
Hey Hey Hey (tonight)
Hey Hey Hey (tonight)

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper-thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?
Do you ever feel already buried deep?
Six feet under screams, but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there’s still a chance for you?
‘Cause there’s a spark in you
You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the Fourth of July
‘Cause baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth
Make ‘em go “ah, ah, ah!”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go “ah, ah, ah!”
You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe
You don’t have to feel like a waste of space
You’re original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane, comes a rainbow
Maybe the reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it’s time you know
You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the Fourth of July
‘Cause baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth
Make ‘em go “ah, ah, ah!”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go “ah, ah, ah!”
You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It’s always been inside of you, you, you
And now it’s time to let it through
‘Cause baby, you’re a firework
Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth
Make ‘em go “ah, ah, ah!”
As you shoot across the sky-y-y
Baby, you’re a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make ‘em go “ah, ah, ah!”
You’re gonna leave ‘em all in awe, awe, awe
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon

I came to move, move, move, move
Get out the way me and my crew, crew, crew, crew

Just drop the phone, came here to do, do, do, do

I’m gonna take it all out,
I’m gonna be the last one standing.
I’m over it all and I…
I’m gonna be the last one landing.
Cause I, I, I.. believe it,
And I, I, I .. I just want it all.....
I just want it all.....
I’m gonna put my hands in the air!
Hands, hands in the air!
